About George Fleming George can best be described as someone who chooses to live life with passion, intention, and an open heart, and who embraces all that life has to offer. “For me, it’s about living with inner fulfillment and joy, while creating relationships, work, and a life that authentically reflect me and my potential.”George describes his mission: “To help individuals and organizations thrive by tapping the authentic potential of the individual.”
The Quest If there has been a consistent passion in his adult life, it has been to explore the process of self-discovery and to learn to live a life that balances an intentional life with an effective one. “How can one live a spiritual, joyful, and meaningful life of purpose, yet be very effective with creating fulfilling work and rich relationships?” The Inner Journey George started his inner exploration over 20 years ago, and since then has extensively studied both Eastern and Western religions and spiritualities, transformational personal awareness and development practices, spiritual psychology, meditation, best business and leadership practices, and the best of career discernment tools. His exploration and deepening continues daily!
The Outer Journey During this time, George also wanted to fully experience what the world had to offer and to use the world as a classroom to practice the principles he was learning. After graduating with honors as a Mechanical Engineer (a likely beginning for a coach and speaker!), George entered the world of technical sales and marketing with General Electric. While he thrived and enjoyed the world-class training and intellectual stimulation, he desired more of a focus on people and how they think and act.
As a result, he began a successful career in advertising and marketing. He managed the advertising accounts for several Fortune 500 clients, including Hewlett-Packard and Lucent while working for three of the world's largest and most respected advertising agencies. After several years in advertising, George decided to take a leap of faith and move more fully into helping people achieve their ideal lives. His trust paid off, and he found the perfect job: director of a career services and training agency for inner-city young adults. He had found his passion of helping individuals on their path of life. He spent five years developing and managing programs for helping clients discern careers and lifestyles right for them.During this time,
George decided to create a way for individuals to share their gifts with others -- and as a way to find themselves. He founded Hands On San Francisco, a volunteer service organization that provides volunteer opportunities to thousands of busy working people each year.
The Journeys Merge It is from his extensive personal development and study, corporate experience, graduate studies, and trainings that George developed a highly effective approach to helping clients transform their lives and companies. Since this work began, he has completed his training as a Co-Active Coach through the Coaches Training Institute, the premier coach training school in the country and successfully completed his Masters Degree in Psychology with honors at the University of Santa Monica.
George enjoys domestic and international travel, adventure sports including rafting, rock climbing, and mountaineering, as well as nature photography, backpacking, and meditation.
